How it works
Glutathione (GSH) neutralizes reactive oxygen species, unstable molecules that can damage cells. It supports phase II liver detox. It also blocks tyrosinase, the enzyme that makes melanin (skin pigment). Levels fall with age, illness, and oxidative stress (a buildup of that cell damage).
The evidence
Its role in the body is well established. Studies of glutathione as a treatment in people are small. That role doesn't prove that shots improve tiredness, skin, or recovery. It also isn't true that glutathione by mouth can't be absorbed at all.
Typical dosing
Shot: 600–1200 mg into the muscle or under the skin, 1–2× a week. Cycles usually last 8–12 weeks.
